I’m committed to education in Ejisu says former ECG boss Kwame Agyeman-Budu

The immediate-past managing director of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), Kwame Agyeman-Budu, says he is committed to the promotion of education in the Ejisu municipality of the Ashanti Region.

Speaking to journalists on the sidelines of an inter schools quiz competition organized by “Friends of Agyeman-Budu” for some basic schools in the Ejisu municipality on 10 October 2022, Mr Agyeman-Budu, noted that quality education is the surest way to guarantee Ghana’s development.

Mr Agyeman-Budu, appealed to parents in Ejisu to embrace the flagship programme of the Akufo-Addo government, Free SHS, and to ensure that their children take advantage of the policy.

The inter schools quiz competition was organized between the Asotwe M/A primary/JHS, Asotwe R/C primary, Bomfa Methodist primary/JHS and Akyawkrom JHS. The competition took place at Asotwe.

At the end of the competition, Bomfa Methodist Junior High school emerged winners for JHS category while Asotwe primary school secured the first position for the primary category.

The group, “Friends of Agyeman-Budu” as part of it contribution to education in Ejisu, commissioned an ultra-modern urinal facility for the Asotwe M/A basic school. The project was made possible with the direct support of Mr Kwame Agyeman-Budu

The municipal chief executive for the Ejisu municipality, Samuel Oduro Frimpong commended Mr Kwame Agyeman-Budu and his group for showing commitment towards quality education in the municipality and appealed to citizens to emulate their gesture.

The chairman for Friends of Agyeman-Budu, Mr Paul Opoku on his part said the motive behind the program is to help promote quality education in the Ejisu community.
