Vice President Bawumia Arrives Home From Hajj
The Vice President, Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, on Sunday arrived home from Mecca after performing this year’s Hajj with his wife Samira. The Vice President, whilst on Hajj, prayed for the Government and the people of Ghana for Allah’s blessings and guidance.
He was received on arrival by Sheikh Dr Osman Nuhu Sharabutu, the National Chief Imam and other Islamic clerics at the Kotoka International Airport.
The Vice President expressed gratitude to Allah for safe arrival and prayed for safe arrival of all Hajj Pilgrims, who were on their way home.
”We went to Hajj and prayed for this country. We prayed that God gives this country peace, unity and prosperity.
“We prayed for the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, and the Government that, God gives the President the strength to carry on the agenda to make Ghana, the country that is going to operate beyond aid and reduce the burden on our people,” Dr Bawumia stated.
He expressed optimism that Allah would grant answers to their prayers and make the nation great and prosperous.
Hajj is one of the five pillars of Islam.
Muslims undertake the annual pilgrimage to the holy city of Mecca once a year to pray for Allah’s continuous protection, peace and prosperity.
